Chop it down

Often I wonder what I shall type and inspiration may come by simply looking out of the window. As I gaze out I see a big old holly bush offering a natural barrier at the limits of the garden. It looks rather splendid but last year it was a runaway beast daring the intrepid to venture forward into those rather sharp leaves.
Ergo, I got out those old shears and after a fair bit of toil made it somewhat more sociable in that little corner of the garden. There was more light and there was less risk of an errant barb scratching its presence across one's gentle skin.
When reflecting upon this it helps shine a light on our own overgrown areas in our life. It is so easy to accumulate quite an amount of old clutter and getting our own spiritual shears out so to speak is most rewarding.
This can be done on a physical level (eg, why are you still holding onto that broken cup from 1975!) and an emotional/spiritual level with a touch of healing and meditation. It's often rather cathartic to do this process and we often feel so much lighter.

So, what are you holding on to and what would you care to do to let it all go?
