What flavour am I?

Have you ever felt like a Wagon Wheel? In this instance I am referring to the confectionery as opposed to an item for carriage transport. Now this has no doubt raised an eyebrow or two as you think to yourself what has this to do with a spiritual angle so allow me to elucidate.

This is aimed at all of us who offer a service, be it guidance, readings, healings or whatever other avenue of assistance we offer. It is so easy to find yourself seeing your visitor as more than a client and that is tricky as it can lead to disappointment.

It helps if we see it from the client’s point of view. Let’s say they have insomnia and they see you as a Reiki healer who might be able to help. There’s a nice talk and you feel a connection with the client. You have a great session and they tell you it was amazing and can’t wait to book and often they won’t and you can feel disappointed.

This is where the Wagon Wheel comes into play. We are seen as a service, a product if you like and they are the customer who comes along and buys their sweet. They may well have enjoyed it very much but rather than ordering another Wagon Wheel they might decide next time to get a minty Aero and you get put on the shelf.

It’s a harsh analogy I know but if we get into our client’s minds it helps us keep those boundaries and appreciate their custom. They may come back or they may not but just remember, they almost certainly did enjoy that Wagon Wheel.
