What is our song?

There are so many sounds all around us and of course we have a sound unique to ourselves. Thing of the footsteps you make, the swish of a jacket, the tone of your voice and even how the simplest movements will invoke an auditory response.
It is a pity though we seldom pay attention to the soundscape around us though. It is taken for granted and even as I tap on the keyboard my attention is drawn to that noise. I bet though, it it were not for the subject matter at hand this would not have been the case.
Think of the sea. When we hear the waves come in and out it has the most calming effect upon us and throw in the call of the ubiquitous seagull, a boat chugging through the water or the chatter of seafarers nearby and you realise there is quite a song being made.
The image below makes me think of how we could combine with nature to produce our own natural melodies. It is often mentioned, but there is a certain similarity between the ebb and flow of the sea as well as our own breath. I like to think of the tide as the Earth breathing and just imagine how wonderful it would be if we listen to the sea and combine our breath with the same rhythm of the tide. Could we not expand that further and make our own music? I leave that totally up to you, but if I ever should see someone singing gaily to the tunes of the tide I shall release a smile or two.
