Your story

I sit here at the desk today and the Sun now roams imperious in the sky with a tincture of graceful warmth being offered to us. A short while earlier there was a curious mist prevailing across the fields yonder and so much of the local vista was hidden from view. Yet now, to gaze out, all is revealed in a wondrous technicolour extravaganza to behold.

With many of us in our lives there will be periods where much is unseen. Indeed, we may even feel that we ourselves are unobserved and this can be quite the challenge. There is this need to see all before us and yet when all is dark it has the possibility to compound our sense of worth. The advice may be to let it all play out but it’s rather difficult to comply in the midst of such scenarios.

If we look at those great stories though we begin to understand the complexities of these narratives of life. If you picked up a great tome and then someone told you in a few words exactly what would happen in that story the spice and surprise has been diminished. You may even feel the need to put the book down for the tale has been sullied.

It is when you watch a film for the first time or read those chapters unfold in those books to reveal the elements at just the right moment that you appreciate the art of the play unfolding before you. This is the same with our lives. If we can but step back and realise we are playing our role, acting our part in our own great adventure it will give us the scope to navigate all those plot twists, successes and to pen our tale to our very best ability.

So let us not fret on knowing everything that is to come our way. Instead, love the fact you are doing your best and the story is in fact you.
